Acclimatization Tips

High-Altitude Prep
Spiti Valley sits over 3,800 meters above sea level, so acclimatization is crucial to avoid altitude sickness. Arrive at least 3-4 days prior to race day. Stay hydrated, avoid strenuous activity on day one, and follow a light but carb-rich diet to help your body adjust.

For a full acclimatization guide, including local stay options, check our [Acclimatization Tips] page.

How to Reach

  • By Air: Nearest airport is Kullu–Manali (Bhuntar), with taxis/buses to Spiti.
  • By Road: The road from Manali via Rohtang Pass is scenic but can be challenging—plan an early start.

  • By Train: Closest major railway station is Chandigarh; connect to buses or shared cabs from there.

Clothing & Gear Guide

Dress for Success
Temperatures can drop dramatically in Spiti. Layer up with moisture-wicking fabrics, windproof jackets, and thermal base layers. Good trail shoes with ample grip are essential, and don’t forget a hat or buff to protect from strong mountain sun.
